Jack up the front of the car and support it on jack-stands. Remove the wheel and tire. Support the bottom of the axle stub and lower control arm with a jack. Remove the clip holding the brake line to the strut and slide the brake hose out of the tab on the strut body. Remove the two pinch bolts holding the strut to the hub carrier. Raise the hood, and remove the two bolts holding the strut to the top of the inner fender. Slowly drop the hub carrier assembly, steadying the strut so that it doesn

You will need to compress the 2002 Pontiac Grand Am strut spring with a spring compressor. Remove the top and bottom strut retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install the new strut.
on passenger side between firewall and engine, It has an "L" on cap if not there it should be by the drivers side strut!!

The fuse box is located under the dash on the drivers side of the car.There is also a fuse box under the hood by the drivers side strut tower.
To replace the strut you have to jack up the car on the side you want to do and take off the wheel. Then, take it loose from the strut tower on the top. There are 3 or 4 nuts. Then take it loose from the steering knuckle on the bottom. The whole strut assembly lifts out. To replace the coil you have to have a strut compressor. It compresses the coil spring so the top of the strut can come off. Once the top of the strut is exposed the coil can be taken off the strut.
