You may as well change the whole mechanism. I've seen them on Ebay pretty cheap. Around $50. The motor itself has pop-rivets holding it down. You'd probably spend as much money on tools as you would replacing the mechanism.

Buick produced the Skylark from 1953 all the way up to 1979. They did not produce it every year. The only years that the Skylark was produced were: 1953-1954, 1961-1972, 1979. The Skylark was still produced after 1979, but it was bought out by General Motors.
I don't have an answer to this question but want to add to it so hope this is okay, this is a problem with Buicks in General and should have been recalled. The window motors on my 1997 Buick Skylark (purchased in Jan of 2000) started going out in March of 2000
