i have just done one on a 96 vectra there are two bolts holding the thermostat on undo these and undo the clip holding the large hose and the cliop holding the small hose on then pull the ousing out and then remove the thermostat from the housing and replace with a new one not fogeting the rubber o ring

Drain the water from your 1997 GMC Yukon cooling system. Remove the water supply hose. Remove the thermostat housing retaining bolts. Remove the old thermostat and replace with the new thermostat.

To replace the thermostat on a 1997 Pontiac Grand Am 3.1, first disconnect the negative battery terminal and loosen the clamp on the radiator hose. Next, remove the mounting bolts from the thermostat housing and insert the new thermostat.
Just had to get 1 myself. only place is vauxhall main dealer, about £30. takes about a week to come, as it is ordered from vauxhall itself. hope this was of some use
Its a belt but its the rollers that fail check out www.v6technicians.co.uk they know all bout this engine It has a timing belt. Only some diesels or the 2.2 petrol Vectra's have timing chains.

Not sure exactly but might be easier searching internet for vauxhall vectra or opel vectra, tends to be easier to find information using those searches rather then Holden.. They are the exact same car but Holden just purchased the design..
