If it's the 4 cylinder engine, you don't. The 4 cylinder uses a timing chain and it doesn't need to be replaced until you rebuild the engine.
If it's the 6 cylinder engine you need the special tool set that aligns all 4 camshafts while holding the crankshaft at the proper position. It's effectively impossible to replace the timing belt without the special tool set; don't even try.
Last time I checked, the tool set was about $500.
There is no external timing marks on 2001 Saturn.
Always replace the timing chain, sprockets and tensioner rails whenever you remove the head.
how do i replace a transmission sensor switch on a 2001 l-series saturn
The S series Saturn does not use a timing belt; all four cylinder Saturn's use a timing chain.
All vehicles without a distributor (which Saturn sc is one)can not have there timing adjusted(done by the computer).
The V6 uses a timing belt. The 4 cylinder uses a timing chain.
Your 2001 Dodge Ram does not have a timing belt, it has a timing chain. No replacement is necessary.
how do you replace a timimng chain on a 2001 Nissan Sentra?????
It should cost no more than $350, if u also replace the timing belt, which i recommend. The total w both water pump and timing belt should cost $375, and that's a padded estimate.
How do you replace timing chain & water pump on a2001 Chevrolet cavalier
All of the 4 cylinder Saturns used a timing chain. The V6 engines used a timing belt.
You clean or replace it.
