Resetting, or powerwashing a Chromebook is fairly simple. Keep in mind that any files or data stored in the Chromebook itself will be deleted. Head to the status area on the lower right corner, and click where your account avatar displays. Once in, go to Settings, then to Show advanced settings. Look for the Powerwash section and click Reset. After that, select Restart.
Keep in mind that your Chromebook password and Google account password are one and the same. So, once you change your password, you will need to sign out of your Chromebook and sign back in with the new password.
It depends on what situations does it cause it to freeze. Is it after startup? Or after it was asleep? You could do a factory reset (called "Powerwashing"), which might solve this issue. Keep in mind though that any data you saved on the Chromebook could get lost after the reset. Follow the instructions on doing a factory reset via the related links below.
I think you are meaning the password to connect to wifi. You won't be able to retrieve that through your Chromebook. If you've never changed your network's password when it was initially setup and now don't know it, you will need to reset your router and reassign a new password for it.
