You can use a scanner or try dkisconnecting the battery for 15 min or so.

to reprogram it you must send it in to the dealer or NAPA will also do it

All OBDII vehicles ( any vehicle mid year 1995 and newer) require a OBDII scan tool in order to reset the vehicle's check engine light. Disconnecting the battery no longer is a functional repair for resetting the check engine light as the computer stores the information in the prom now, rather than in the RAM.
