Make sure the total odometer reading is dispalyed, then turn the car off (no power). Press and hold the odometer reset switch (next to the odometer) while turning the key to the accessories position. The odometer reading is replaced by 5 dashed lines which will disappear at the rate of approx. 1 per second. When this is finished, the original odometer reading will be displayed and the maintenance light should be extinguished for another 5000 miles. This procedure is also listed in the Sienna owners manual. Hope this helps.
You can't. Besides, it's against the law to tamper with the odometer.
Mostly all the vehicles that I have worked on with a digital odometer cannot be lowered. Their is an actual manual odometer that reads to the engine computer that sends digital readout to the odometer, that cannot be reset or changed if you were to try to it would disable the vehicle and would need to be taken to the manufacturer garage for service to reset computer but would still give old odometer reading. If the computer were to come out of another car the odometer still wouldn't change. Government is very very strict with odometers these days. I disagree with above that digital odometers "can't" be tampered with, indeed they can provided the right hardware/software is available, many digital odometers can be manipulated through a connection made on the cars diagnostic plug or through connections made to the instrument panel cluster. A search of the internet will show up many companies that sell hardware/software to do digital odometers
The Trip Odometer is normally reset by pushing and holding the reset button in. The odometer can not be reset.
You cannot reset the odometer in your car, however you can reset your trip odometer.
This should work to reset your light if your trip and odometer reading are digital. If they are analog, sorry don't know how to reset. I don't know if it is illegal, it is there for you as a reminder to maintain your car, it is for your use only. But it should not be that hard to reset it yourself. We have a Tundra that the 'maint needed' light comes on. It is programmed to come on every 5000 miles as a reminder. This is how we reset ours: 1. Turn key to accessory port only (where everything comes on, but the engine does not) 2. Push reset button to change from the 'trip meter' to your odometer reading. Press and HOLD the button while odometer reading is diplayed. DON'T LET GO OF THE RESET BUTTON. 3. Turn key off while STILL HOLDING THE RESET BUTTON. 4. Turn key back on to the accessory port again WHILE STILL HOLDING THE RESET BUTTON. The odometer reading should change to a 00000000 or ----------. 5. You are now done. The light will come back on in 5000 miles again to remind you to change oil and ?????
It's in the owners manual. Turn the key to the "on" position with the odometer reading showing. Hold the trip reset button in for five seconds or more. When 0000000000 shows, release the button. The current odometer reading should show.

You can not reset the odometer. The trip meter can be reset by holding down the button.
Where is trip odometer reset button on vauxhall insignia
how do I change from kilometers to miles on the odometer. I have tried the reset on 2009 Ford Explorer
Either trip odometer 1 or 2 must have miles on it. 1. With car key in position I, push in the trip odometer reset and hold. The trip odometer (either 1 or 2) will zero. 2. With trip odometer reset still pushed in, move car key to position II. 3. After the series of start up indicators are finished, you will see the original mileage that was on the trip odometer before you pushed the reset. Release the trip odometer button and turn the key to the off position.
