You will need to raise the drivers side window all the way up and then hold the button in the up position for about 20 seconds, that should do it.
The electric windows on a 406 might behave weird if you disconnect the battery. But holding down the "window-down" on drivers side for 10 seconds or so should fix it.
I have never seen a car with a battery for the electric window. The electric windows use the main car battery. If your electric window does not function properly, there is some other reason for it's erratic behavior. ie: intermittent short, faulty switch (my guess), faulty window motor, etc, etc.
I was informed by my local dealership that after power is loss (disconnecting from the battery), using the switch at the window in question - take window down to lowest level and then bring it back up to it's highest level and hold the switch until you hear a 'click'. This process returned the passenger's front window remote control to the driver's switch for me.
Undo the torx screw in the 'pocket' and pull it out gently. Unplug the cable and remove it completely.
The method of repair for a 307's electric window depends on what the problem is. First check that electric power is reaching the circuitry, and the motor itself when the buttons are pressed. This will allow the repairer to know whether the motor should be replaced, or the circuitry needs troubleshooting.
No. They simply won't run.
To change the motor in the 1996 Chevy Cavalier driver's side window, first pry the interior door panel from the door. Then, remove the motor by first disconnecting the vehicle's battery and then disconnecting the wiring to the motor. You can then remove the screws that hold the motor in place.
The same as on all OBD-II compliant vehicles -- use a code reader's reset function. Disconnecting the battery is another way to reset check engine lights, but I do not recommend it on BMW's, as disconnecting the battery often messes with BMW's brains and require things such as the window functions to be reset/relearned.
If like me you have the winder style windows not the electric then just get ya hands a little damp an slide the window ope with your hands until there is a gapt then pull it down. If its electric then i dunno sorry.
you could run 2 wires from the +, and - post on your battery to the switch itself that should get your window up. if that's the case youll have to replace the switch...
