It is a pretty big job. I suggest taking it to an auto trim shop
This is not an easy task. Get a factory shop manual from AUTOBOOKSONLINE.COM . It is about the only book with steering column information like what you need.

Climb under the rear wheels look for a round can with hose or metal tubing though it. In 89 or 90 I think they went with snap lock connectors. before that it was threaded.
if the line is leaking with a hack saw cut a gap out of the line after you removed the gas cap to release pressure in the system.replace the gap with ta small piece of water hose and two hose clamps.this is only a temporary fix that can last for years.it is best to replace the the entire line i have… never done this. the answer above is a perfect example of what NOT to do. if you use hose designed for water the fuel will eat the inner liner of the hose and send sediment into your motor. is it fuel-injected? if it is that means the fuel system runs under high pressure which must be sustained with specialty fuel lines. they now have specialty rubber fuel-hose for FI cars; its fantastic. you can tie it up with tough cable ties for a cheap fix....but make sure you do a good job. you need to locate the leak and cut the lines far in front and behind it. make sure the the hose will be able to stretch over stock metal lines and put hose clamps on the connections. run the car in park for at least ten minutes looking for leaks....dealing with fuel on a car is a very serious thing to avoid a potential car fire i.e. fuel leaking on the exhaust. most ive seen is in the truck.or under the dash on the passenger side. Jessie
Depends on which engine it has. The firing order can be found castinto the intake or any repair manual will list it. The firing order 1,3,4,2.
The headlight switch should be easily removed from the dash. There are two connectors on the back side of the switch (one for the headlights and one for the dimmer). Simply unpug the connectors and plug in the new switch.
Answer . \nIt does not have a governor. It may have a rev limiter which is comouter controlled.
Answer . \nThat would depend on which engine and what type of lube/sealant is used on the head bolts. Can't answer the question without more information.
Begin by removing the alternator belt on your 1989 Chevy Corsica.Remove the wiring harness from the back of the alternator. Removethe alternator retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install thenew alternator.
On my 89 there is a ground wire on the body in front of battery. Bad connection will cause problem with headlights. Could be hi/lo dimmer switch under dash. Hard to replace without removing steering column but I unplugged switch, plugged in new switch, set new switch on dim lights, and wired new swi…tch to steering column so I have lights but only dim lights ( Full Answer )
Located behind the gas tank you remove the lines and it comes right out be sure to spray it with penetrating oil a few days prior so the lines will come off without breaking
behind the engine,in front of the transmission, about half way up the side of the block, its very hard to see its near the knock sensor.
There isn't a fuse, inside the light switch is a circuit breaker. you will find the info in the onwers manual on the page before the fuses, sorry i don't have a page number.
I would not advice you do that it is a complex job and if not done right the lock nut will back off the stud and cause the push rod to be pus out of place .They may break which will result you taking off the head of the engine.Contact a mechanic
Answer . For the 1989 2.0 4cyl, a low pressure pump is used. That makes pressure between 9 and 13 PSI. The V6 fuel pump should produce between 41 and 47 PSI. Hope this helps!!! BTW v6 is multi-port fuel injected, and the 4 is 'bottom feed port'
Answer . No, unfortunately a cracked head is pretty much through. It's only worth scrap metal prices.\n. \nThe pressures and temperature changes in a head are sufficient that any attempt to seal the crack would fail next time the engine warmed up. If the head is cracked, your only option is to …replace it with a head that isin good shape, or get rid of the vehicle if it's not worth the expense to you.\n. \nYou can purchase a used head from a wrecking yard have it milled to make it flat and have the valves and guides reconditioned. If you can replace the head yourself you can probably do the whole job without too much expense, (under a couple hundred) but make sure you take care of the valves and machine the head before you try to put it in your engine. If you buy a used head from a wrecking yard, have it "magnafluxed" before you do anything else. Often a wrecking yard will put a mark on the head to show that you bought it from them. If you clean the head before you have it magnafluxed, you won't be able to take the head back if it too is cracked.\n. \nA used head is not a bad idea, typically GM and Ford heads are fairly tough and don't crack if the engine isn't overheate. You have to take the front grill off to get at the headlight. Everything is easy after that.
You can try to reset your brake light switch by unplugging thebrake light switch and plugging it back in. If that does not solveyour problem you will need to replace the brake light switch.
Answer . If you mean electrical reset switch, the easiest way to do this; disconnect the negative battery cable for approx. 15 minutes and this will reset your electrical system. If you have a warning light which keeps coming back on, chances are you have a problem with either a sensor or a part…. In that situation, you should take your car to a professional mechanic for diagnostic testing if you don't know how to do it. ( Full Answer )
Pop the hood, see the black covers that go across the front over the headlights and radiator? take off the part that covers the headlight, there should be 2 little screws that you can grab with your finger and twist. The cover will come up and there will be a socket you can remove can, remove the li…ght socket. . Take those out and replace the light bulb. Put back together in reverse order. ( Full Answer )
If what you are talking about is the small cylinder shaped one, just push in the round recessed button on top with a pen or something.
Answer . The water pump is located behind the water pump pulley. The water pump pulley is the smooth pulley at the top closest to the front of the car. It is held in place by 4 bolts with 8mm heads. The pump is held in place with 5 bolts. Warm the engine to operating temperature before removing …the bolts or they may break off causing you greif. ( Full Answer )
To reset a breaker move the handle completely to the off position. If it had tripped you will feel a little resistance as it goes to the off position. If this doesn't restore the power the breaker is either bad and in need of replacement, or there is a persistent fault in the circuit causing the bre…aker to immediately re-trip. Breakers are safety devices. ( Full Answer )
Answer . in the fuse box under the hood, the label is under the inside of the lid of the fuse box. or it could be under the dash on the drivers side way up under the dash. Check a repair book, I believe "breaker" is part of headlight switch. On my 89 there is ground wire on body in front of batt…ery. A bad ground connection will cause breaker to activate and headlights go off. ( Full Answer )
Answer . If you feel no air blowing at all (when you are not moving) then your fan is not blowing. If it is blowing air, and it is cold, when the heater is on, then most probably your heater core is leaking, or is clogged. These are easily replaceable and go bad all the time in older cars.
Possibly bad wiper motor, bad park switch, or bad wiper switch. Electrical short also possible.
Amateur with some ideas:. 1-could be fuse in box under dash on driver's side. 2-my trunk light did the same, traced wire that had worn in a spot from constant opening and shutting - could the headlight wiring have same wear and tear?
This vehicle does not have a fuel reset button. It does however, have a fuel pump relay and a fuel pump fuse located in the under hood fuse panel.. The above info is correct, you can also try cranking the engine for a extended amount of time, about 15 secs, to see if it starts. Dont try recranking …the engine after this for about 2 mins, you must let the starter cool off. If it still doesnt start, check the relay, and fuse. Althou these very rarely go bad. It could be a fuel pump. ( Full Answer )
open the hood pull back the cover from back casing on the light. take out the screws and hook the lighting mechanism from the wires and shes out. same with back lights but those are in the trunk and peel back the floor mat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A 1989 Chevy Corsica 2.0 sedan weights about 2595 pounds. The 1989Chevy Corsica 2.0 automatic sedan weight 2623 pounds.
For the up/down aiming there is a screw (need a t5 or t15..something like that) on the top center of each light. You have to remove the plastic covering above the headlights. There is another screw in the vertical position on the ouside edge of the headlight for left right aiming. Hope this helps!
shut off the power to the box, switch out the breaker and resture the power
It is built into the switch and is not serviceable. You will have to replace the switch assembly..
It is usually located in the headlight switch. It is a automatic reset circuit breaker. When a short occurs it rapidly blinks the headlight circuit on and off so the headlights are not completely lost to allow you to pull off the road safely at night.
A circuit break will reset until it mechanically breaks down. What you should be looking at is why is the breaker tripping all the time. A breaker is a safety device that stop current from overloading the wire that it is protecting. When the breaker trips check and find out what other devices have s…topped working. Total up the wattages. If the total is above 1500 watts then something is going to have to be disconnected on that circuit. ( Full Answer )
its under dash on left side of steering column theres a rod that runs from your blinker switch when you pull on it that pushes down this switch on your column. It may be difficult to remove without lowering column. I unplugged old switch, on '89, pluggged in new switch, set new switch on dim, and w…ired switch to column so now only have dim lights but avoided paying a lot to a garage to replace switch. The Corsica is 4 x 6 in the front and 6 x 9 in the rear
Go out to your breaker box (usually in the garage or in the basement), open the cover and look down at all the switches. One or more of them has been switched off. Flip it back to its on position.
Be sure headlight switch is ok. On my 89 there is ground wire on body in front of battery and dirty connection will activate circuit breaker in headlight switch. Could be dimmer switch on column under dash which may be hard to remove without lowering column. I unplugged old dimmer switch, plugged in… new switch, set it to dim, and wired it to column so now only have dim lights( but can drive at night) as old switch still connected to activator rod which goes up to turn signal/dimmer handle. Check repair book but my 89 has circuit breaker in headlight switch. There is ground wire on body in front of battery. Bad ground will cause breaker to activate so unbolt ground and clean connection. Could have bad dimmer switch which is on column under dash and may be hard to remove without lowerin…g column. I unplugged old switch, plugged in new dimmer switch, set it to dim, and wired new switch to column so now only have dim lights as old switch is connected to activator rod which goes to turn signal/dimmer handle. A manual circuit breaker must be reset by hand, as opposed to an automatic circuit breaker, that may be able to reset itself once it cools down.
Yes. . In most cases, yes. If the circuit breaker continues to trip when there is no fault in the circuit, it may be failing and need to be replaced.
I'm assuming this is a typical breaker you would find in your home. Pull the breaker to the off position, then to the on position. When the breaker blows on overcurrent, it will go to somewhere between the off and on position and open the circuit. From this position, you cannot force it to close (on… position) without first taking it completely to the off position. ( Full Answer )
get a glue gun, glue it to your face and attach that to the windoow you want, then exert an outward ressure and voila. all yours!
A shunt trip breaker is reset the same way as an ordinary breaker, move the handle to the full off position and then to the full on position. First check the tripping circuit, sometimes a latch relay is used to hold the breaker shunt trip coil in the trip position. If this is the case then reset the… latch relay first. ( Full Answer )
If you know what caused the breaker to trip then remove it from the circuit. Then open panel door and locate the tripped breaker as the one that is no longer in the full ON position. Some have a colored flag that appears when tripped. Now move the toggle to the full OFF position and then to the full… ON position. ( Full Answer )
GM doesn't use a fuel pump reset switch (aka, inertia switch), that's a Ford thing.
Unplug the one pin ECM power connector attached to the positive battery cable. It is usually hidden underneath the power brake booster. Open the connection for a few seconds and then reconnect.
