go to control panel from the settings, then choose date, time, language and regional options (the one which have a globe and calendar drawing) Note: settings can be found on the start button menu. ;)
Well, you kinda just answered the question. If you're running Windows XP :
click Start > All programs > accessories > system Tools > System Restore > Then, you select the date you wanna restore your computer too! most Windows Operating Systems are around the same procedure. Sorry, I don't know how Mac works, but I'm positive if you have a new one, you can!
Go to the start menu.
In the search box, type "restore", and one of the results that appears will be system restore. Click on this, choose the date you want to go back to, and there you go.
Click on Start(bottom left corner of screen)
Click on Help and Support
Click on undo your changes for your computer with System Restore
It will give you a date that you can pick to restore it to an earlier point, you can undo this if you want by following the steps above after you picked a restore point.

No Vista has only released up to SP2
What you do is you go to Start, then you search System Restore. Then you click on it and then pick an earlier date of when your computer was working, clicknon it and then it will restorw your computer. This is a safe thing to do. Then to clean it, you CAN USE Microsoft Security Essentials. Best computer cleaner ever!
If you choose factory reset setting, you will wipe out everything on your computer. You will have to pay a tech to reload it with the basics, unless you have the drivers. You will get rid of the virus if you restore your computer to an earlier date, before you down loaded the virus.
There is no such thing as "Windows XP Vista." There is Windows XP and there is Windows Vista. They are two different versions of the Windows operating system (XP is older than Vista). As to which is better (XP or Vista) if that is your question -- I think most people would say that XP is better, but this probably depends on which operating system you are used to and what type of work you do with the computer. That said, even Windows Vista is out of date, now. New machines will have Windows 8 (or Windows 7 if it is slightly older).
on the SID press customise then select system settings then service info and select reset service info. If the option to reset is not there you will need to change the date to a date beyond the 'Days to service', reset option will then appear. when reset, return date to correct setting. (to change date press and hold the info select button when the date is displayed.
