The User Settings will determine how Adobe Acrobat is updated. The recommended setting is to allow Adobe Acrobat to check for updates then download and install them automatically. Additionally settings prohibit Adobe Acrobat from doing so. This setting can be changed in the Edit > Preferences > Updater menu. A quick fix is to select Help > Check for Updates.

The only program you need is Adobe Acrobat Pro. Depending on the version you are using: under the documents/pages menu, simply select the option that says: "extract pages". You can then select which pages you would like to remove from the file. Besides Adobe Acrobat Pro, you can use some PDF mergers to combine multiple PDF files. To save money, the PDF merger is a better choice to combine PDF files. Or maybe you could try to use PDF merger which will be a little cheaper that Acrobat.

You can usually perform a factory reset by pressing F8 to get to the restore menu on the computer. This will restore the computer back to factory.
