I have found the best way is a size 12 or even 14 hook with a 1/16 pinch wait. Simply tie your hook on 4 to 6 pound test string. The distance from for middle finger to your thumb from the hook should be where the pinch weight should be. If your a bobber person, then do the same thing from the weight and your bobber should be there. That's it. Or u can use jig head with a tube lure and put the crappie nibble on the tip of the hook. You could catch bluegill and maybe even bass too.
