Ripping your DVD to your computer is quite easy if you have the right tools....or not.
First You can simply go to "My Computer" after loading the DVD into the drive, right-click on the DVD and select open, Use Ctrl+A to select all files in the DVD and simply dump it in a new folder created on your desktop (probably named after the movie). When you're done, double click on one of the files in the folder to open the movie and Windows Media Player automatically recognises it as a DVD and you can now select the root menu from the control panel of wmp and browse through the DVD(as you would with the DVD).
Or otherwise; there are a list of good and easy-to-use DVD ripping tools that you can download for free online and use to rip your DVDs.
One i can recommend is the AUTOBRAKE 1.07 and iMACSOFT FREE DVD RIPPER 2.4.6.0683. They're both free to download and converts DVD ripped files to most common video and audio formats
In terms of CDs and DVDs, 'Rip' means extract content. In this case, 'to rip a CD' means to copy the content to the computer and save it there. The application 'DVD Rip' does just that.
You can rip DVDs to your computer using DVD ripper software, such as Handbrake. Install the software, open the program and insert the DVD that you want to rip into the DVD drive. Click on the Source button, locate the DVD drive on your computer and select Open. Choose a destination folder where the ripped DVD will be stored in. Choose your preferred file format and press the Start button.
I do not know what you mean by DVD extras. Your Mac comes with iDVD which can be used to rip DVDs.
No
The term "Ripping" refers to taking audio or audio-visual material from a CD or DVD and copying it onto your computer. When you tell Windows Media Player to "Rip" something it will then copy whatever you have selected from your CD or DVD onto your computer so that you no longer need to place it into the computer's CD or DVD drive to watch/listen to it.
That would be illegal. So no.
I think you may need a DVD copy to copy the DVD to another DVD disc. You could not "download" a DVD to your computer, but you could rip it to other video or movie files then burn it to another DVD disc.
Rip the music from the DVD to your computer than use the music you just ripped and burn it to a CD.
It depends.some dvds have copyright so you couldn't rip them. But I can rip my DVD to my itouch.Good luck.Ripping commercial DVD is illegal in most countries, but rip copyright-free and home made DVD is OK.
Yes, when you rip a DVD you are just basically converting one file into another, leaving the original file on the DVD and creating a copy of that file in a different format on your computer. It does not erase the original file unless you have an erasable DVD disc and you choose to erase it.
Very simple, through a process known as disc-to-disc ripping.
it depends what kind of DVD ripper you are using. I recommend DVD shrink 2.3 to rip the DVD and VSO DvixtoDVD 0.5.2 to convert it and DvixtoDVD 4 to burn it.
