you have to have iTunes to rip songs from your CD. Once you have downloaded iTunes put your CD into your comnputer and it will come up with a window saying whether you want to rip your songs onto your iTunes library. Follow this process and then just drag and drop the songs onto your music on your iPod on the toolbar down the left hand side of iTunes
load the CD into your computer rip the songs into your computer then sync those songs into your iPod

i use windows media player , put your CD in, open up windows media player and select the tab at the top that says rip, it will then come on to a list that shows you all of all your songs ,click the box's to decid what songs you want then click rip at the bottom right of the screen.
