The only way I know of to change the fonts used within Windows, without third-party software, is through the Display Properties.
Follow these simple steps to change your font:
# Right click in an empty space on the desktop # Click the last option on the context menu, 'Properties' # The Display Properties dialog should now appear # Navigate to the 'Appearance' tab # Click 'Advanced' This opens the 'Advanced Appearance' window, from here you can select each item and change its font, size, and color. Item's in this list are the various types of text displays throughout Windows. For example, the font of an active window, or the font of tooltips.
Once you have made your changes, click 'Ok' to close the window, and then click 'Apply' in the Display Properties window to apply your changed settings. Windows may stop responding and display a 'Please Wait' box, this delay is normal.
Steps to installing a font:
1. Open up your Control Panel.
2. Click "Appearance and Themes."
3. In the "See also" box, click "Fonts."
4. Go to File > Install New font.
5. Select the font you want to install.
