Buy Call of Duty: Modern Warfare first; you'll beome more familiar with the characcters and the weapons used before you get the second one. Besides, if you don't get the first one, the plot of the second one won't make much sense, will it? You'll have no idea what happened before. Also, when this answer was written, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 wasn't released, so you can hardly get it this instant. Get Call of Duty: Modern Warfare first, and save up for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
yes young skywalker but for now save your force
no, your online rank will only be deleted if you delete your xbox live/psn account.
Find the game directory for Call of Duty 4. Inside of that are the subdirectories \players\profiles\. In "profiles" are the list of characters that you have saved games for. In each profile there is a "save" directory with an "autosave" subdirectory. If your character's name was, for example, "Muhammad", the full directory tree would be Call of Duty 4\players\profiles\Muhammad\save\autosave. I have my game installed in a nonstandard location, but I believe the standard tree above "Call of Duty 4" is C:\Programs\Activision\Call of Duty 4, but it shouldn't be hard to find with Windows' search tool.
you open fire streight a way and kill all the hostiles, the farmer will run inside and lock the door so you get nothing out of saving him
not without running homebrew on your ps2. homebrew software is your own software so you can do what you want. - however you may encounter problems with the game if you attempt this.

Are you referring to Campaign mode? You might not be getting to proper save points, or ending the game before it saves which causes you to start over.
