"Vildir þú óska að þú ættir ennþá heima á Íslandi" (Icelandic)
"Would-you-wish-that-you-had-still-lived-on-Iceland" (Word for word from Icelandic to English)
Yup
Wild animals would be reindeer, arctic fox, mink, rabbits and field mice. There are 78 species of birds (puffin, swan, falcon..). Then there are pets and farm animals. There is also the Icelandic sheepdog and the Icelandic horse. Both are among the oldest (and rarest) breeds in the world.
The Icelandic Sheepdog is Icelands only native dog. It was brought to Iceland with the first Viking settlers (AD 874 - 930). The Icelandic Sheepdog and its method of working adapted to the local terrain, farming methods and the hard struggle for survival of the Icelandic people over the centuries, making it indispensable in the rounding up of livestock on the farms. The Icelandic Sheepdog s popularity has increased over the last few decades and, despite the fact the breed is still very small in numbers, it is no longer considered to be in danger of extinction. It is most likely descended from dogs introduced by Scandinavian colonists. It is probably a relative of the Norwegian Buhund. The Icelandic Sheepdog was recognized by the AKC in 2008.
There have been and still do occur murders in Iceland.
No, Iceland is still very cold, although not as cold as Greenland.
Courtney as in the name? Just Courtney. Just like if your name is William and you would move to Iceland you would still just say William. We rarely call people by there names, we call them something short like William we call Villi and Courtney, Neyja.
No you have to be 17 to drive in Iceland.
For more information on Scandinavia or any one of its territories just double click on its name on this pageScandinavia consists of Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Iceland. Norwegian, Swedish, and Danish languages are pretty similar, although Finnish is nothing in comparrison. The Icelandic language is what the Vikings used to speak like, but some words in each of the Scandinavian languages have very similar words from the Icelandic language.Scandinavia only consists of 3 countries Norway, Sweden and Denmark, you are probably thinking of Norden or the Nordic-contries which also contains Finland and Iceland. This is a common mistake, but its still important to remember there are only 3 countries in Scandinavia. They share history and speak Scandinavian, while Finland speaks finish which is not a part of the Scandinavian language branch, and the Icelandic language is a part of the branch it is to far away to be considered a Scandinavian country.Norway, Sweden, Denmark, IcelandNorway, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland

Not as dangerous as the first one but they still hold a potential threat against iceland and its peopl
Irish monks is correct....many areas of Iceland still have Gaelic names from their Irish settlers. Iceland was then settled by the Norse....who used part of their ships from their homes, as there are no native trees, mixed with sod sides and roof. Eric the Red was the person accredited for having discovered Iceland....however Irish monks were already there since the 18th century. The culture is very Norse as is the language
Yes, it has a lot of still active volcanoes.
