informal

Ich helfe dir./Ich werde dir helfen. (present and future)

Warte, Ich helf dir./ Warte, Ich werde dir helfen.

formal

Ich helfe Ihnen./ Ich werde Ihnen helfen.

Warten Sie, Ich helfe Ihnen./Warten Sie, Ich werde Ihnen helfen.

That's the way, a German would usually put it. This "warte" means "wait". Like in English, it's usual to use the simple future to express you will NOW help someone.

The word "warte" just stresses the fact, that you will be able to help in a second or in minute. To stress that, you could also put the word "gleich" at the end of your sentence. It means "soon".

Warte, Ich helfe dir gleich./ Warte, ich werde dir gleich helfen.

>> In the second version, the word "gleich" changed its position.
