You would say aslamualaiykum (āssālam 'alaykum, السلام علیکم) and the other person would respond waslamualaiykum.
The Pakistani language is Urdu. Since most Pakistani's are Muslims, they use the traditional Islamic/Arabic greeting, "Assalum-o-Alaikum" (May Peace Be with You) or simply "Salam"

You can say 'Asalamoualaikum' and as a reply you say 'Walaikumsalam', if you have difficulty saying that you can just say 'Salam' and reply with 'Salam'.

If when you say that your parents were born in pakistan you also mean that they are pakistani themselves then you are 100% pakistani not irish i.e. I was born and live in england but I wouldn't say I am actually 100% english as infact I am 3/8 irish, 1/8 welsh, 1/4 english & 1/4 portuguese.
