Given that there are 200-250 aboriginal languages in Australia, there are many ways to say greet others in the aboriginal language, and they usually do not mean "hello".

Some of these are:

  • werte (Arrernte)
  • palaya (Pitjantjatjara language - means "good" and is considered a friendly way to greet people)
  • yaama (Gamilaraay Yuwaalaraay)

With over 120 viable aboriginal languages/dialects, you would have to specify which region you wished to represent.

For example, the Noongar equivalent is "Kaya".

The Arrente of Central Australia say "werte".
