note 1; Most people just say quesadilla since it is understood it is made from cheese (QUESA dilla). I translated it as you asked because places like Mexico City have quesadilla de chorizo which is made of spicy pork sausage, also other stuffings are used.
Regular folks leave off the 'de queso'
note 2; It works like you say, but tastes better if you toast it on a griddle or pan. NOT microwaved. You can also fry it with oil in a pan to crisp the tortillas and melt the cheese. ( my personal favorite )
