To learn is "aprender". You learned is aprendió in the preterite, and is aprendía in the imperfect. Learning is usually something that you retain over time, so I would use the imperfect for this. "Aprendía esto en la escuela."

There are a few ways to say it, I have always learned "Ayudame" as "help me". If you want to specifically say "would you help me" it would be "Me ayudaria", but that is not really used by Spanish speakers.
