In this case, I believe you mean "we were finished (ended) a long time ago". That would be "Nos terminamos hace mucho tiempo".

If you say it nicely, then yes. I don't know the full context of what you are talking about, but if you are responding to someone in an email, text, or other type of message, you could say, "I'm sorry, but I already posted this a long time ago."
