In the Blackfoot language the numeral one is ni't or nitukska; happy is expressed with the prefix minok-or the verb form itamawpiw and a person is matapi.

However, the idea of "one man" is more often expressed by use of a demonstrative pronoun instead of a numeral:

Amo matapi itamawpiw = this (singular, near to speaker) man he-is-happy.
