In Castellano (from Spain), it is called IVA, or Impuesto sobre el valor añadido. In other countries of South and Central America, it is called impuesto al valor agregado among other variations.

This is relatively difficult to translate since no Spanish-speaking country has "sales tax" preferring "value-added tax" as the method to gain revenue on the sales of goods. As a result, people will translate "sales tax" however they wish. The most common such translation is "Impuesto sobre las ventas" which literally means "Tax imposed on sales".

Value-Added Tax (VAT), which is present in Spanish-speaking countries is translated as: Impuesto Valor Añadido (IVA).

What would a 259 dollar camera cost without sales tax?

Assuming the $259 price tag is with sales tax, we still couldn't answer the question - we'd need to know what the sales tax rate is where you're buying it/looking at it is. If it was, say, a 7% sales tax rate, then that would come out to $18.13 in sales tax, so the price without it would be $240.87.

Total with sales tax $48.76 minus total without sales tax $46.00 = sales tax $2.76. Sales tax $2.76 divided by purchase $46.00 = sales tax rate 6%.
