comió -or- comía / it depends whether the event is momentary or habitual.
I.e. She ate a cookie today. -- Comió una galleta hoy.
She ate cookies every day. Comía galletas cada día.

If it just happened recently, just use the regular form of the verb. Yo como, means i eat, but if you say, Yo come hace un hora, that means i ate (or just ate) one hour ago. Or...you could say "acabo de comer".
