It depends which word you use. Jumper is 'cavalier' while Sweater is 'chandail' That is not true i am afraid Jumper in French is "Pullover", Sweater is the same, although 'Sweater' is American and France do not know of that word but i would suppose it could be "Sweatshirt". Shirt is "Chemise".
