Glasgow has an accent which is virtually unintelligible to non Glaswegians and the Aberdeen area of northeast Scotland has a dialect known as Doric. For example, if someone in the Aberdeen area met a friend, they might say 'foo ye dee-in?' (how are you doing) and the reply might be 'nay baad' (not bad). Other parts of Scotland use a dialect known as Scots which is a version of English. Because of the widespread watching of television, some of these have been 'watered down' and are not as difficult to understand as they once were.

Scotland is not controlled by England as such. England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland together form what is known as the United Kingdom. No one part owns any of the other parts. It would be a case of Scotland leaving the United Kingdom, not leaving England. As to whether they do that is a decision for the people of Scotland. Some say Scotland should leave the United Kingdom and others say they should not.
