Because the Spanish language has two different kinds of past tense (Imperfect & Preterit), there are two different ways to translate this depending on context.
"Comimos" is the Preterit translation meaning that "we ate" only one time in the past or at a specific event.
Ex. Anoche comimos juntos (Last night we ate [dinner] together)
Comimos dos pasteles (We ate two cakes)
"ComÃamos" is the imperfect translation and is used when you did a lot of eating in the past.
Ex. Cuando éramos niños comÃamos mucho helado. (When we were kids we [used to eat] ate a lot of ice cream).
"Which restaurant?" is "¿Cuál restaurante?" in Spanish.
