How do you speak it? It's much harder than you think. The German alphabet is just like the American one, plus 4 extra letters. 3 of those letters are regular letters, a, e, and u with 2 dots above them. They are called umlauts (OOM-lowts). The 4th looks like a capital B, but it is a way to replace a double 'S'. To speak German, you must sometimes roll your r's, but you don't have to. There are actually 2 different ways to speak German. Southern Germany speaks German different than Northern Germany. For instance, 'hello' FORMALLY* would translate to 'Guten Tag' in Northern Germany.
