Hold down the mileage trip button located on the speedometer BEFORE you turn ignition key on. Turn key and continue to hold trip until service indicator resets.
The manual says push the trip odometer button with the actual mileage showing and turn the engine to the on position (without starting it) and it will reset HOWEVER it doesn't work... someone told me the 5.7 litre engine is a Lexus. I did the same thing with the trip odometer set to TRIP A (as required for the Lexus) an it reset instantly... good luck. Took me an hour to figure this one out. Hope it helps you.
No, mileage is usually calculated either by a trip computer (if so equipped) or manually by dividing the number of miles traveled, as indicated on the trip meter, by the amount of fuel put into your car when it is refueled. The fuel gauge is only an indicator of how much fuel is in the tank. By the same token, if you knew how much your car got per...let's say, quarter tank, you could figure out how many miles you can squeeze out of your tank without a trip computer. However, this method is less accurate, because most fuel gauges do not provide a precise readout (i.e. there are no indicators of the actual amount of fuel remaining) and they do not travel from "Full" to "Empty" at a constant rate.
# Press and hold the trip odometer button. # Insert car key and turn it to the first position. # Watch for the word "RESET" to appear on the Odometer indicator. # Release the trip odometer button, then press & hold it again. # Wait for the "RESET" message to flash. # Release the trip odometer button, then press momentarily & release. The Service interval is now reset to 10,000 miles
Where is trip odometer reset button on vauxhall insignia
procedure will be in your glove comp. hand book..... Sorry, but this is correct. In the discussion section I mentioned that the info was not in the owners manual. It is, only problem is, it is very hard to find but it is in the manual. Sorry if I confused you. page 77 of the 2004 Lexus rx330 handbook... (you will find the answer you are looking for in resetting your maintenance light.) with the odometer reading visible, (not trip A or trip B..) turn off engine. While keeping Odo/trip button depressed, turn ignition back on (not starting the engine) You will see dashes (instead of numbers) on your odometer disappearing one at a time. it will be replaced by 0's (zeros).. Release the Odo/trip button and your original mileage will come up.... And your done..... until the next oil change.
usually this can be accomplished by setting your trip odometer to current mileage, turn off car completely , push and hold trip button, turn on key without cranking motor and watch the lines where the mileage appears count down till the mileage reappears. if this doesn't work, set the trip to trip A or trip B and try again.
Most cars today come with a "trip tracker" button on the dash of the vehicle. It tells exactly how many miles you drive, but you'll have to mark the starting mileage and the ending mileage numbers of the trip. Happy Trails to you.
