I'm trying to find out how to set the expiration period for backups created using a Maintenance plan for SQL Server 2005. When manually backing up an individual database there is an option to specify when the backupset will expire. This option is also available in SQL Server 2000 Maintenance plans however is not for SQL Server 2005 Maintenance plans. Under the Server Properties there is an option to set the default backup media retention period. Is there no way to set this period for individual maintenance plans?
