Not really possible. There is an idle speed control on most 1988 v6 machines. If you are experiencing high idle, it may be a broken ISC. The idle speed is controlled by computer.

it cant,the idle on that car cant be tampered with.it has to be taken to a shop hooked on there computer so they can set it.

There is no idle screw. The idle air control valve controls the idle and can be set on different settings. You should consult a Ford dealer or mechanic for proper settings.

All Ford vehicles cannot adjust idle nor timing wich is pre-set at the factory and the computer sets the idle and timing, vehicles after 1990 no longer can be adjusted.
