To set the timing on a 1984 Chevy Celebrity with the V6 engine:
1. Disconnect the HEI connector so the engine will run in closed loop.
2. Start the engine and use an inductive timing light to check the timing. It should be at 100 before top dead center
3. If the timing is off loosen the clamp at the base of the distributor and turn the distributor so that the timing is set.
4. When you have set the timing tighten the clamp and verify that the timing did not change. If it stayed the same reconnect the HEI connector.

1984 was a good year for the Chevy Celebrity. It was in 1984 that the Eurosport option first came out as well as the introduction of the station wagon. It was the last year of the carbureted "Z' engine. I have three 1984 Celebrities in my collection. One is a standard four door sedan, one is a Eurosport coupe with the "Z" engine and the third is a Eurosport convertible. The convertible version may be one of the rarest Celebrity models produced with as few as 200 being made.
There is no 1994 Chevy Celebrity. The Celebrity was discontinued in 1989, with the exception of the station wagon which remained in production through 1990. Assuming you mean 1984, depending on which engine it is, very easy or slightly difficult.
