You don't. The timing is not set by rotating the distrubutor, as we used to, as it has no distributor. Timing is fixed by the position of the Crank Position Sensor/Indicator. I imagine it's thereafter shifted by the computer somehow with RPM and so on - just haven't dug that deep into it, so I'm not sure.
You cannot adjust it and it is set by the computer in the car, it can vary by altitude, speed and accelleration.

You cant set the timing it is computer controlled .
all kia have a default timing connector you must disconnect if you want to check timing,called base timing connector.some are inside passenger floorside others are inside hood along firewall.this sets the base timing,remember electronic timing is set with with a combination of crank position sensor,timing sensor,knock sensor, and if they are working correctly then it is hooked to a computer for tweeking to get the proper results. the days of the old timing light are basically gone,but i still use it to verify what the computer is telling the engine when to fire.

no need to set the timing for it automatically set its valve.only the cdi needs timing for they controls the electricity to burn your fuel....
