To be classed as an antique firearm, the firearm must be either a muzzle loader (uses loose powder and ball) OR have been made prior to 1899. If it falls into that category, it may be shipped by UPS with no restriction. It can also be mailed by US Mail (yes, mailing an unloaded rifle or shotgun is perfectly legal in the US). Package your firearm securely (either a hard case or lots of bubble wrap). There should be no markings on the outside of the package to indicate that it is a firearm. You may take it to the Post Office or a UPS Hub, or call for a pickup.
