It is simple to shrink or resize a photo for a web page. I'm using here Photoshop first to shrink a photo.
This is my process in Ps.
1.To change image size, enter values for Width and Height. ...
2. To change the Resolution, enter a new value.
3. To change the image size or resolution while allowing the total number of pixels to adjust proportionately, make sure that you select Resample.
Besides this method, sometimes I used to take some online tools to achieve my goal.
Such as ResizeYourImage ,TinyPNG, PicResize, ResizeImage and so many.
You can use Paint to shrink the image (image>strech). Then save it as a much smaller image and the file size will be the smaller.
It depends on your file system. Some filesystems are CASE sensitive but typically JPG and jpg are the same thing.
* matches anything. *.jpg would mean any file with a .jpg extension. 1*.jpg would mean any file where the name begins with 1 and ends with a .jpg ? matches any single character. ?.jpg would match a.jpg, 1.jpg, or F.jpg but not a1.jpg. Several ? wildcards can be used so that ??.jpg would match any jpg file with a two letter name.
