Remove the fuel pump relay or the fuel pump fuse.
when my car did this it was a blown fuse
Insert the ignition key into the ignition and turn it to on, the alarm should shut off.
sounds like you have a bad ignition ground

That's called dieseling, and the main thing that causes it is improper ignition timing.
because of the petrol that ignites with the engines through acceleration.

what kind of car? IF its fuel injected the key turns off the computer, the fuel pump, and the ignition coil
You need to replace the ignition switch. Too much play in it.
The engine would shut down, but the rest of the vehicle would act as if the ignitoin was in the acc on position.
Do they ever shut off? Some fans are designed to run a minute or so after the car is shut off to prevent boil over.
