When I worked at Bethlem Steel in Lakawanna N.Y., we called the tiny, shiny, graphite flakes that permiated the environment there "pixie dust". They would sparkle in the sunlight. I believe they were the product of the basic oxygen lancing process (Bessimer?).
So maybe camp pixie dust was a steel mill. Maybe not.

Camp Pixie Dust only comes near the end of summer, and that is when you can sign up.
There are no Fairy Olympics in Pixie Hollow. The Pixie Hollow Games are over. But summer 2012 right now is Camp Pixie Dust. You can sign up in Havendish Square, but there really is no competing rather than winning the trophies, going on the quests, and simply earning the silly sweets.
In Pixie Hollow Virtual World, you will need Pixie Dust to enter the Wilderness. Before getting Pixie Dust, you must be a Member. There are a three ways to get Pixie Dust. They are listed here; (1.) Every day when logging into your account, you will get a fresh refill of dust. (2.) If you are a Member of Pixie Hollow, you can personally bake, and eat cookies to replenish your dust. (3.) You can level up on your Talent Skills, and every time you go to a new level, you will get a refill of Pixie Dust immediately.
Pixie dust and fairy dust are often used interchangeably to describe magical substances in folklore and fiction. However, in some contexts, pixie dust is specifically associated with mischievous or playful behavior, while fairy dust is associated with benevolent or kind actions. Ultimately, the distinction between the two can vary depending on the source material or storyteller.

It is something fairies use to fly, but I assume you're talking about online. If you are a pixie hollow member online and you've been in the wilderness before, there will be a bar full of "pixie dust" at the top of the screen. This is your "health" or "energy" for when you go into the wilderness. You loose some when you overcome obstacles in the wilderness. You can regain pixie dust by eating cookies. (Bake some at Dulcie's Bakery in Neverberry Thicket; personal baking.) You can find the cookies in your pouch in the Cookie Tab. Remember to keep your pixie dust up! -MY A$$!
Terence never sends any messages, but you are sent to the Pixie Dust Mill when you level up.
The only non-payment and non-leveling-up diamonds available for all fairies are the four diamonds you receive when you arrive. Certain fairies during Camp Pixie Dust were given a code, but it could only be used once, and obviously all the codes are either used or unknown and not possible to get. Basically, it's unfortunate, but there's no way else.
