What you do is click on the 'effects' tab. Then, search for the title 'fast/slow/reverse'. It will then show the highlighted clip on the preview screen, and there will be a line with a triangle in the middle with 'slower' and 'faster' indicated on either side of the line. Move this either which way to speed it up or slow it down.
The specific directions depend on the version of iMovie you have.
Though you cannot speed up music on its own, if it is with video, you can do it. If they are one piece (video and audio), select the piece, go to video effects, and then go to fast/slow/reverse. Slide the playhead on the fast/slow to the right to speed it up. Then separate the video and audio under the Advanced heading.
Yes you can. You can often find tutorials on the Apple site or look down.
First, you need to double click the bit that you want to speed up. If you only want to speed up a certain part of the clip, split it so the part you want to speed up is a separate clip. A greyish black rectangle will come up. Click video option at the top. There should be a bar with an arrow on it and a turtle and a hare on each side. Drag the arrow, which should be in the middle, closer to the hare. The faster you want it, the closer you have the arrow to the hare.
WRONG--
iMovie '08 does not allow for changing speed. The process Answer 1 refers to is doable in iMovie '09.
Update to a later version, and double click on the video
