The name of God is represented in scripture as "YHWH"(known as the 'Tetragrammaton'-meaning 'four letters'), and transliterated as: "Yahweh" favored by many Hebrew scholars.

The best known, however, is the English translation "Jehovah"(Psalms 83:18).

The abbreviated form of the name is "Yah"(or Jah) (Psalm 89:8) as in the expression Ha‧lelu-Yah′ meaning "Praise Jah, you people!". (Psalms 104:35; 150:1, 6)
