Yes, In fact, I just did this operation because I had a movie file longer than 2 hours which would not fit on a standard 4.7 gig (120 minute) blank DVD media. I simply ran the movie thru a movie file editor program like Ulead video studio 9 and split the movie in half, making 2 separate movies each with a first half and a second half, then I burned each half onto a DVD-5 media. Works great.
