You have the dealer or a locksmith make a new key.
Leave the key in the run position for one hour to get it to start
Turn the key to "on" without starting the engine......leave it in that position for about 1-2 minutes.....then turn the key to "off" (without trying to start the engine) remove the key completely.......wait about 15 seconds then insert key and start a normal varoooooom....it should start....Bill in Evans
if you have a chip in your key then the chip is bad
If the key for the Pontiac has a security chip in it as well, simply wait about fifteen minutes without doing anything and then your car should start. If the key does not have a security chip you may have to remove the battery to reset the system.

Not without picking it over or breaking it. The switch needs to be turned, and the retainer depressed to remove the lock cylinder.
You either have a loose/corroded battery cable or a weak battery.

The transponder is in the head of the key. The antennae for the transponder is the plastic ring around where the key is inserted. It can be bypassed by putting the head of the key under the cover of the column, next to the antennae. A normal mechanical key would then start the vehicle. Useful in remote start applications.
