∙ 10y agoFirst, make sure that your ATV does not move while removing the starter by using the handbrake. Make sure the ignition is in the OFF position. Now, remove the negative battery cable from the battery. The starter motor has a rubber protection cap on one end, this must be removed. Next, loosen and remove the nut attaching the positive cable to the starter motor. Nut and cable are removed. Finally, remove the two bolts that hold the starter in place with a socket wrench. The starter motor and the cable guide can now easily be removed, simply pull the starter out.
