hmm, good question, If there's no rust on it now you can keep it clean and dry for the most part and make sure there is no bare metal that allows water to create oxidation. If, on the other hand there is rust that you want to stop in its tracks, you can use a product called 'Por-15'. I use it and it is extraordinary.
