first you look around for a grasshopper then once you see it take someting like a net and put it on top of the grasshopper. make sure it doesent escape because it is hard to find. Once you have caught it in the net slowly take something with like a container and put it in and you should have it.
In order to catch a grasshopper you must cup your hands around the place it is standing on. Wait for it to jump. By then it should be on your hand. Quickly stick it in a jar and its yours.
After it jumps slowly walk towards it. Once you are in range, quickly cup your hands around it. DO NOT SQUEEZE IT.........IT WILL DIE!!!!!! Once you have it, study it by grabbing it by the winged shell part. Do not grab it too tight or it will be seriously injured!!!!!!

That was a TERRIBLE answer. The person asked for a way to catch it WITH a trap. You didn't even show a way to catch it at all! You know, some people just happen to be afraid of catching grasshoppers by hand! I am, since I've been bitten my a grasshopper AND IT HURTS. Plus, it's alot more fun to catch it with a trap.
One way to get rid of grasshoppers is to keep chickens as they consume them and help to reduce the population. Another way is to plant flower such as marigolds, dill, daisies or mint. These flowers will attract insects that will eat grasshoppers.
