How do you stop the squeaking sound coming from the hubcaps on a 2003 Cavalier?

If you know it's the hubcaps try buying new ones if you can afford it. Otherwise, put some foam or caulk on the rubbed areas of the caps. Let it dry then put back on the wheel. The idea is to form a barrier between the hubcap and the wheel. Also try zip ties but watch how they are attached so not to interfere with tire movement; and don't put stuff on that will melt or vaporize all over your brakes... Are the hubcaps truly squeaking? Or could it be the wear sensors on the brakes that are worn down that are squeaking indicating they need to be changed?
