There are various add ons to Google Chrome you can use. Such as Blur V5.4.1915 and Adblock. You can check out availables ones by clicking on the Apps tab (coloured squares icon) and then select the Web Store and type in pop up blocker or other search terms. The two mentioned work by stopping unwanted pages popping up and stopping the pages you search for being used to track your viewing. The tracking will then generate pages specific to your viewing preferences.
You might need to disable your extensions. They can allow popups and can bypass Adblock. If this continues, you may need to "powerwash" your browser.

You cannot stop this Trojan, the Only way is to go to settings, (if you are on Google Chrome) Scroll down to Search, when it says: trovi. Click on it then scroll down to google.
