you click on the sign in automatically box and make sure it doesnt have a tick in it.

I'm going to assume you want to stop it from starting on startup? Your question isn't too clear. But, to stop Windows Live Messenger from starting on startup all you need to do is go to... Start > Run > MSCONFIG > Startup | then uncheck Windows Live Messenger and hit okay.
