With this in mind, the best way to study for a quiz in higher education, is to read over the notes taken in class as given by a professor or teacher. Also, the student should make sure all the text book reading done is complete and is understood. A surprise quiz ia an animal of a different nature.

• Keep up with the homework - most quizzes are designed to see how well you've been paying attention and learning the material
• Take good notes in class and use them to study - the teacher will stress what's important and usually give you everything you need to pass a quiz if you just pay attention and take notes
• Read the textbook and take notes from that - copy down what's important (it's usually in bold print) if your teacher has not already gone over that part in class - then study from your notes
• Read through the material the night before a quiz to be sure you remember it, and skim your notes the morning of the quiz to refresh your memory
